Morning a bit chilly
A grey morning with light winds from the north. Small waves on the beach breaks with a wobbly 1-2 feet easing and the wind will get a stronger this afternoon. Better this afternoon with the higher tide and the wind swinging more northeast. High tide at 1.30 this afternoon will bring the harbour into action for a paddle from around 11 with the eastuary looking good and The Sheds backyard will be looking good closer to the high tide. The sun will begin to shine this morning as well.
Found the picture below on the net and wondered what this guy actually is taking this seriously.
Lighter winds
High tide this morning at 8.45 and lightish northeast winds on the harbour and exposed beaches. The estuary is looking good this morning with the town side quite sheltered. Stronger winds this afternoon and possibly a down wind paddle on the cards.
Small waves on the exposed beach breaks which will be ebst this morning on the higher tide. Again look for somewhere sheltered from the wind. A good day to practice your surfing somehwre where there isnt anybody around.
Another windy day
Strong northeast winds again today and the sun is shining. Waves on the beach breaks but you will need to find shelter from the strong offshores.
Windy as again today
Amazing weather patterns with strong northeast winds continuing. Tiny waves on the exposed beaches but you do need to find a sheltered spot.
The harbour is wind swept and the promise of a down winder is on but in reverse. That is heading to the harbour entrance from Town as opposed to launching at the entrance and blasting down to the wharf.
Hey Im back with a new back….
Well so to speak. I had back surgery on the 20th and are now able to sit at the desk for few mins. No paddling though, not four 5 weeks from next tuesday or something.Even then only if it is perfectly flat.
Any way enough of that, there has been heaps going on in the NZ paddle scene and there has been plenty of Autumn water action. Back soon…
Down wind
Strong winds are forecast for the next few days so down wind paddling is on the cards. One of the funnest things that can be done on a paddle board. Dont know how and want to learn then flick the shed an email.
I see Llaird Hamilton slipped in to Auckland for the Volvo Ocean race. Then slipped on down to Queenstown with his family for a bit of a look around.
Another pic below of last weeks surf.
A little wet today
Last night the TV weather was looking great for a paddle with a cold start to the morning and then the sun shining.Well they have the first bit right. High tide this afternoon at 4.45 pm and lightish winds.
Yesterday was brilliant, with a shining sun and no wind. Gary and Rebecca were there with the family to experience abit of The Sheds paddling hospitality.
